Warning My Readers
Do Not Try To Shame Me Into Believing in Peter Pan Ideas
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - Never e-mail me a rebuke when you can easily do it in the comment section of the article that offends you.
It is mano a mano no matter what you are hiding. Journalists call it transparency.
The Woke Ideologists prefer “canceling” or “shaming".
Today, my intention is to inject some hypocrisy, irony and humor for my readers enjoyment.
And they are owed the opportunity of debate via the comment section.
This is in regard to my article, “Saluting the late Carl Weathers”, and I received an e-mail at 11:38 a.m. on 8 February 2024 from Douglas Ptacek Jr. that states: “If you’re that frightened of a rainbow flag, perhaps you’re the pansy snowflake.”
Ptacek is co-owner at DJ's English (立達英語, 新北市板橋區實踐路145號1樓) Banciao District. He and his “partner” have operated the business since 2006. And based on the success rate via testing scores, it is quite impressive (I am not joking).
However, I have issues with homosexual men running children’s English schools here in Taiwan. This is my only prejudice. And I am not ashamed to admit that single flaw in my personality. Perhaps there are other flaws, I do not know.
But this screenshot of a photograph from DJ’s English makes me nervous.
Is this just Ptacek being playful?
Or does the ancient belief of child sacrifice then the devouring of sinless flesh as a magic potion for perpetual youth - still ring true?1

Hello Wendell,
This is Doug Ptacek- the subject of your post. I’m sorry if it offended you that I didn’t respond in the comments. There are two reasons why. First of all, it didn’t occur to me. I’m a subscriber to your newsletter and normally read it in my email. I just hit the respond button out of habit.
Secondly, I don’t really like to engage in public shouting matches. If I had responded to you publicly, I would have used much more measured language. I’m not afraid to engage with people whose opinions I disagree with, but I also think that shouting, bullying and false innuendo are not constructive. If I choose to publicly express a different opinion, I prefer to use facts and logic and talk calmly.
Frankly, I found your comments offensive. I’ve had friends who are gay and I find homophobia offensive- it’s harmful to good people for no good reason. My response to you was impulsive and I have mixed feelings about it. If I had thought about it for a moment, I would have just ignored it like I almost always do. On the other hand, when loud-mouthed bullies are shouting offensive things and trying to intimidate the people around them, I also think it’s important not to just let the bullies get their way.
I originally subscribed to your newsletter because I found some of the things you write about interesting and informative. As a long-time resident of Taiwan, I’m interested in any reliable information I see about the cross-strait situation. I looked up information about you online and you appeared to be a professional, responsible journalist. Unfortunately, your post about me reveals that you aren’t as professional as I thought since you chose to publish falsehoods about me without even bothering to talk to me. I would appreciate it if you would take your post down. I wasn’t trying to start a public fight and I’m happy to just let this drop if you are, but if any harm comes to me, my wife or my family as a result of you posting personal information about me and spreading false rumors, then you will be responsible.
Regards
The U.S. is suffering right now because of allowing our children to be used, abused, manipulated by people with an agenda. The general public has been shamed and threatened into silence. I have always believed IF 2 adults wish to do things behind closed doors that is their business, however disgusting and appalling that might be to me. Once you broadcast that as loud and as often as you can, it becomes the community's business and then when you begin to involve children you have crossed the line and moral people have an obligation to resist evil.
