AIT's Laura Rosenberger Returns to Eat, Drink and Be...What Exactly?
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - Three times since her appointment in March, AIT Chair Laura Rosenberger has come to Taiwan on “official visits” in her “ceremonial role” as AIT Chair.
She arrived on Sunday (15 October) for a five day visit “exploring the island, trying delicious food…”, she said in a post (see below).
She occupies a position with no authority, no power, and no clue.
A former U.S. State Department veteran described it as “the eternal problem when a non-career person is appointed AIT Chair ... the lust to be ‘relevant’ ... and hence operational ... at the cost of blurring lines of authority ...”
Her salary is still a mystery, but flying three times to Taiwan to meet President Tsai again since March, plus her eating and drinking and first class travel expenses, the former U.S. State Department gave a rough idea how much money was being thrown away:
She is too recently appointed for her compensation to appear on the Web (a matter of public record through tax filings — and if would be known, I imagine, to the staff members of the House and Senate foreign affairs/relations committees). But the attached [PDF] from past years would give you an idea. [James] Moriarty’s salary is not a good point of reference, for the terms of his appointment were different from those of Rosenberger. You can probably make a fair guess about her salary by noting that the AIT tax filings for the fiscal year ending 2021 show that Francis Ruzicka, the AIT/Washington program director for Trade and Commercial, had a base salary of $176,994.
With a Bachelor’s degree in Women’s Studies, Psychology, and Sociology, she must be underpaid.
Please see previous article about Rosenberger’s talents HERE.
She came at a transitional and confusing time for AIT in Taipei. The building was taken by Woke savages who raised the Rainbow Flag in her honor last Sunday in preparation.
More specifically it was the LGBTQI+ Flag (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Intersex and +). Note: the “+” includes people who do not identify as either men or women and includes individuals who are attracted to many genders or to individuals regardless of gender.
They, unfortunately, like Rosenberger, made no demands beyond being noticed in the local media by confused reporters.
