What Time Does She Get Off Work?
Taiwan's Special Operations Command Celebrates International Women's Day
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - Taiwan’s Special Forces Command celebrated International Women’s Day for 8 March by showcasing YU Xiang (玉湘), their first female physical combat trainer.
This is the press release translated into English from the Taiwan Ministry of National Defense (MND):
8 March 2024
It is often said that girls should look like girls.
Some people also say that girls should dress up beautifully. Why do they have to work so hard?
In recent years, more and more women have devoted themselves to the traditional male-dominated workplace, but under the social framework and public expectations, it is really difficult to become what they like!
Especially when such expectations come from our closest people.
In the high-pressure and high-intensity environment of the National Army Special Warfare, YU Xiang, as the first female trainer in the fighting teacher class of the Special Training Center, must constantly overcome various physical limitations of women in order to keep up with everyone, which requires more tenacity and perseverance.
They are soldiers, firefighters, police, engineers... They can be of any status and occupation, but in any field, they radiate their own light with a serious and resolute attitude.
Regardless of gender, let their strength speak for themselves!
As long as we want, in fact, we can be strong!
Happy International Women's Day to everyone!
