Typhoon Haikui

Ministry of National Defense Photos

By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德

TAIPEI - As an accredited journalist with the Ministry of National Defense (MND), I receive all the photographs and press releases.

There is some interest by scholars in the U.S. of Taiwan’s disaster preparation and execution, and how this applies to their war preparedness.

Anyone can use the below photographs via the MND for their analysis as presentations for any type of media outlet (articles, books, etc.), just cite the MND as source.

All three services along with the civilian agencies assisted in providing support before, during, and after the typhoon.

Note the Airborne patches on some of the sleeves (parachute insignia), if you are interested in special operation units. Taiwan’s Airborne is basically, in my opinion, more like the U.S. Airborne with some Ranger capabilities.
