Top Three Books for the Upcoming Invasion
Start Reading...Before Time Runs Out
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - These are the books you need to read and re-read if you are studying an invasion scenario.
These are the basics books, not for the master strategist, yet great for someone who has not studied warfare.
In Alphabetical Order:
Easton, Ian. The Chinese Invasion Threat: Taiwan’s Defense and American Strategy in Asia (2017). Still the ultimate book on Taiwan’s military. This is the original cover, so be aware that it has changed over the years. I actually contributed the cover photograph I took at a demonstration exercise by the Taiwan Army’s Amphibious Reconnaissance Battalion, but later the editor thought it too profane and changed it to just a bold title without offending anyone.
Newsham, Grant. When China Attacks (2023). I hold Newsham in high regards. His book deserves more attention.
Wuthnow, Joel, Derek Grossman, Phillip C. Saunders, Andrew Scobell, Andrew N.D. Yang. Crossing the Strait: China’s Military Prepares for War with Taiwan (2022). Not every chapter is gold, but there is gold in this book.
