Taiwan Human Rights…Why, Why, Why?
Please, please, please go away…before…
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI (Satire) - No matter how many times I try to unsubscribe or block e-mails from the Taiwan Association for Human Rights the more disturbing my view of life becomes.
It is like dealing with the Falun Gong or “the little scratch on the roof of your mouth that would heal if only you could stop tonguing it, but you can't.” (Fight Club 1999).
Even more irritating is the fact that Taiwan does not need a human rights association due to fears of even slightly hurting someone’s feelings, including the prospect of complaining to China about it’s threats to invade.
Forgive me, for I am a “minister of death praying for war”, as drill sergeant Hartman said in the movie Full Metal Jacket (1987). Hell, I thought Colonel Jessup, and not Tom Cruise, was the hero of the movie A Few Good Men (1992).
As a journalist, combined with 25 years solely covering military issues in Asia and the Middle East for Jane’s and Defence News, I have published over a 1000 articles on machines that kill people.
I suggest, no, I submit that violence is also a form of communication, philosophically speaking.
Please, please, please go away…before…
BELOW SIGNING: 2006 Association of United States Army (AUSA) Annual Meeting in Washington, D.C. I waited an hour in line to meet this guy. That was a critical hour at a significant event just to meet one man when I was supposed to be meeting with leaders of the Military-Industrial Complex. But to be honest, I think that it should be renamed the Military-Industrial-Entertainment Complex.
