Running the Gauntlet: Holding the Line on Taiwan & Beyond through This Decade of Maximum Danger

TAIPEI - We are still a month away from Halloween and Andrew Erickson knows how to scare folks.
No better example is his presentation: “Running the Gauntlet: Holding the Line on Taiwan & Beyond through This Decade of Maximum Danger,” Keynote presentation for Foreign Challenges – China Session, SENEDIA Defense Innovation Days 2023, Newport, RI, August 2023.
Andrew Erickson, Professor of Strategy (tenured full professor) and Research Director at Naval War College, is a workhorse amongst China military scholars in the U.S. academic and research community.
I have had the great pleasure of attending three Airshow China (Zhuhai Airshow) events with Erickson over the years. I have never met another academic willing to serve as a first person collector of intelligence at Zhuhai.
His boots on the ground discipline and Indiana Jones’ antics are legendary.
Most academics never venture from their offices, as they slowly turn into prison cells. They hide behind their keyboards with shelves of books like bricks that slowly close themselves off from the real world.
