New Map by Taiwan Military of Chinese Aircraft Intrusions
Confusing, But Interesting
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - Taiwan’s Ministry of National Defense (MND) has begun using a new map to outline aerial intrusions by China’s military aircraft.
It lacks the division of types of aircraft and their flight path, but does seem to add some interesting perspectives on range and distance.
It is unclear why the MND changed the map. Or this will be permanent.
There has been no serious complaints about the change, particularly from the legendary Kenneth W. Allen who wrote the book on Chinese airpower: Kenneth W. Allen and Cristina L. Garafola, 70 Years of the PLA Air Force (The China Aerospace Studies Institute, April 12, 2021), ISBN 979-8-724860-88-8, 472 pp.
