I See Something You Don't See - And It's Red!
Early Prepper in Taipei?
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - I like the old ‘I see something you don’t see” game we played as kids on those long car trips.
But today it took a friend to point it out to me.
I am becoming jaded…
It was while walking along Heping Road from Guting MRT Station heading east when we passed a construction site.
He pointed it out and I found it amusing at first.
To be honest, I have seen PRC flags in Taiwan before, but recent Chinese military activity have spooked many of my fellow expat friends.
They call me to ask me to warn them before it is too late.
I always tell them the truth, “I’ll call you from the airport.”
In democratic Taiwan such flags are legal, but rare.
If the Chinese continue pushing the envelope these flags might be the only thing separating your family from a firing squad or prison.
So buy one today, before they are out of stock.
If you are a member of the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) you can forget about switching flags when the day comes.

That's near my neighbourhood ... he's had that flag up for at least the past year and a half since I've been back. Annoying, but I suppose he has the right...
