TAIPEI - There have been a lot of different kinds of VIP bodyguard organizations in Taiwan over the years. The job requirements are light, as guns are illegal in Taiwan. Terrorism is non-existent. Crime is petty at best.
But this advertisement popped up on my job posts today that demonstrates some professionalism. I find it interesting that it includes the actual names of members of Taiwan’s National Security Bureau’s (NSB) Secret Service Center (SSC) responsible for the Presidential Guard.
Whatever is going on, I assume these folks are good to go. Blackwater originally trained the SSC back when there was an assassination attempt on President Chen Shui-bian in the 2000s.
