Die Another Day…
Weird Deaths Over the Years
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - People die. They get hit by cars, they die in spas, they die drunk off their ass, but all people die.
At least conspiracy theorists can enjoy the below articles with some relish. They are all from my old newspaper clips files.
The now defunct English-language China Post newspaper was a competitor in name only to the China News (later Taiwan News) printing basically the same articles everyday. Today, the Taipei Times dominates the English-language newspaper market as the only publication catering to the expatriate community.

ABOVE: It was not unusual for the KMT to eliminate political problems via traffic accidents. I happened to have been in Taiwan in 1993 and can safely cast some room for doubt on so-called assassination. Traffic during this era was far dangerous than today. Drunk driving was basically legal, so long as no one was killed. So the above “construction worker” seems to fit a pattern of manslaughter, but those in construction normally do not driver BMW sedans. I refer you to Ko-lin Chin’s 2003 book: Heijin: Organized Crime, Business, and Politics in Taiwan. Keywords: Alcohol, Assassination, BMW, Car accident, Construction worker, Drunk driver, Lin Ching-Chung, Mafia, Manslaughter, National Security Bureau, NSB, Organized crime, WANG Kang-lu, World United Formosans, WUFI, Yangminshan, Yanteh Road.
ABOVE: Taipei was a serious party town in the 1980s and 1990s. The National Security Bureau is roughly equivalent to the CIA. Chen’s body was found in an area catering to Japanese businessmen, but it matters not. Linsen North Road from Zhonghsiao Road to the Military Police Command is still a red light district. Most of the heavy drinking of the military slowly ended during the 2000s with the election of the pro-independence party, the Democratic Progressive Party. Keywords: Alcohol, Annie Bar, bar, CHEN Yin-pien, China Times Express, club, coroner, heart attack, intelligence, Linshen North Road, National Security Bureau, NSB, police, prostitution, pub, rectum prolapse, red light district, sex.

ABOVE: Spas in Taiwan are normal. The heat generated from a natural spa has been known to cause heart attacks, particularly if mixed with a cold bath immediately afterwards. It is unclear what kind of spa Sung visited, but there are basically two types: those that offer women as part of the experience and those that are for family visits. But, once again, going to a spa is normal in Taiwan due to the volcanic activity on the island and a holdover tradition from the Japanese colonial era. Keywords: Keywords: Anhui Province, Army, Birthday, Blood pressure, Blood sugar, China, Heart attack, Hot spring, Intelligence, LEE Tung-hui, MIAO Cho-jan, Murder, National Policy Advisor, National Security Bureau, NSB, President, Prosecutor, Shihlin, Spa, SUNG Hsin-lien, Veterans General Hospital, Yangming Hospital.
