China’s BF-4 Shadow Drone Takes Off!
Turbojet Drone Gives Shadow 330lb Payload
By Wendell Minnick (Whiskey Mike) 顏文德
TAIPEI - Photographs of a test flight of China’s BF-4 Storm (暴風) drone have been appearing recently on social media and China defense blogs. The test was conducted in Inner Mongolia at Wudangzhao Airport.
The company, Sichuan Yaolei Technology Co. (垚磊创新), provided additional photographs and art on Yaolei’s website, but none of the photographs of the test (minus the BF-3).
According to the company’s website, the BF-4 Storm has a wingspan of 8.1 meters, a length of 6.47 meters, a maximum take-off weight of 800 kg, a load of 150 kg, equipped with a double-engine turbojet engine.
The drone is an upgrade of the BF-3 prototype. I urge everyone interested to watch the company’s BF-3 test flight VIDEO.
Those interested in other types of Chinese drones and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) consider the following books:

One Twitter writer, Joseph Wen, juxtaposed the aircraft’s background with satellite imagery to confirm the location of the test.
