What Are They Up To?

TAIPEI - Once again, in an unusual air sortie for China, note No. 5, which extends its reach along the lower eastern coast of Taiwan.

These Winter Exercises are unnerving because they never happened before at this level.

The air and sea this time of year is rough and China normally conducts air/sea exercises in the Spring around Tomb Sweeping and in Autumn around Ghost Month.

China has also been launching more than normal balloon operations across the island this winter.
