Wuer Kaixi (吾爾開希)
According to a 17 February report from Liberty Times, Wuer Kaixi, the leader of the June 4th Student Movement, suddenly lost contact with his friends last month. It has been learned that Wuer Kaixi accidentally fell down a flight of stairs, resulting in intracranial hemorrhage and a coma index of 3. He was admitted to an intensive care unit for treatment and now under rehabilitation.
I am doing alright now.
I would like to offer my belated New Year greetings to all my friends, wishing everyone a fortunate Year of the Dragon!
I would like to apologize for any activities, speaking engagements, or other commitments I have missed during the past period.
Due to an accident, I spent almost the last month in the hospital, going from the intensive care unit to a regular ward, and now I have been discharged and am being cared for at home by family members. The speed of my recovery has even surprised the doctors.
Thank you to my family and friends for their continuous support and help. It was your voices that awakened me from my coma, and it is to continue building a better future with you all that I have recovered so quickly.
Even though my condition is stable now, this was nonetheless a major injury and I have not fully recover yet. There is still a long road of rehabilitation ahead, but I will continue to strive hard, hoping to return to my duties as soon as possible.
