A Warning To My Media Colleagues
This is for the Taiwan Foreign Correspondents Club
Updated: 14 January 2025 (Original: 18 November 2023)
TAIPEI - Taiwan’s foreign media are clearly using the Leftist Woke template.
Their support for the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) is outrageous. The KMT are evil and the DPP are the heroes in their narrative for readers.
I can only think of four journalists that have the stomach to write the truth and they will become obvious as Taiwan edges closer to the end of everything, as Victor Davis Hanson wrote.
When the Chinese military hits the beaches of this island, there will be executions of the DPP and everyone else that annoys them.
While at the same time, like so many wars, foreign journalists will board their planes to escape.
Having cheered the DPP and pro-independence folks on to a horror they will no doubt face, our heroes at the Taiwan Foreign Correspondents Club will be on the first plane out of here.
While Chinese troops pillaging the island for loot and ladies, after all they are 18-24, never had a girlfriend, and ladies here are beyond beautiful, the foreign journalists will be back home applying for their media awards, calling their book agents, writing their memoirs, getting a lecture series started.
Advocacy Journalism is pig shit.
Yet, only the local Taiwanese media seem to get the joke:
The foreign media here is a little like watching a miniature clown car spinning out of control, ten clowns screaming in horror, as the naive audience cheers them on.
Foreign journalists think they are the tip of the spear. Hubris.
They have more acronyms than brain cells. LGBTQI+.
It is groupthink. “Like sheep to the slaughter" (כצאן לטבח).
“Yet I pity the poor wretch, though he's my enemy. He's yoked to an evil delusion, but the same fate could be mine. I see clearly: we who live are all phantoms, fleeing shadows.” ― Sophocles, Ajax.
