TAIPEI - One of the best English-language investigative reporters in Taiwan and throughout Southeast Asia during the 1990s and 2000s was Phelim Kyne who wrote features for a variety of publications, including the Taipei-based China News (now Taiwan News).
Before the dust mites in the libraries destroy what is amazing writing from the era, China In Arms presents a few of his articles for free on this Substack for our readership to better understand Taiwan’s history. Past articles include: POW Ghosts Still Haunt Taiwan and Chiang Ching-kuo's Pathetic Would-Be Assassin.
These articles came from my own personal clip file that I am now reviewing as I retire and there are a few I wish to save and share.
